How to Apply for Grades 1-5

The application process begins early in the fall prior to entering the lower school grades, 1-5 at SHS. For admission to grades1-5, we rely upon the following sources of information to assess appropriate placement: application, teacher recommendations, transcripts, applicant's shadow visit and results from an SHS academic assessment. Each applicant will be considered on an individual basis and on his or her own merit.

Admission Checklist:

  1. Request an informational packet.

    Please note the information packet does not include a hard copy of the application. The application is an online application. Click the button on the left to apply online. Click here to request an information packet.

  2. Lower School Information Tour

    Please contact the Admissions Office to reserve a space on one of our campus tours. Upcoming tours: October 13, November 10, December 8, and January 19.  Tours begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end by 10:30 a.m.
  3. Submit online application with an $85 non-refundable application fee.

    Online application link available on the left.  If you prefer to pay with a check, rather than through the online application, you may send a check to the Admissions Office at Sacred Heart Schools.

  4. Have supplemental materials forwarded to the Admission Office by January 24, 2011.


    1. Teacher recommendation form: this form must be given to last year's core teacher and current year's core teacher. The teachers must submit the completed recommendation forms directly to Sacred Heart Schools.

      Please note:
      1st grade applicants only need to submit one teacher recommendation form.

      AND
    2. Copy of transcripts, report cards and standardized testing for the preceding two academic years. School registrar must submit the transcripts and any testing results directly to Sacred Heart Schools.

  5. Academic Assessment Scheduled

    Once teacher recommendations and transcripts are received and reviewed by the school,  selected applicants will be contacted to schedule an academic assessment in February.

  6. Request Finacial Assistance Package.

    If you are applying for financial assistance, contact the Sacred Heart Schools Admissions Office for a Financial Aid Information Packet.
