Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton is an independent, Catholic school as interpreted and lived by the Society of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ).

Since 1898, Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton (SHS) has educated students toward lives of meaning, characterized by the teachings of Christ as expressed in forgiveness, compassion, respect, and generosity.

Today, SHS is a vibrant, thriving, and dynamic institution, committed to educational excellence, deepening of faith, and service to others for a more humane, just, and caring world. From preschool through high school, our world-class faculty and staff guide students of all faiths to become thoughtful and caring young adults through a rigorous curriculum and mission-driven programs, development of active leadership skills, and emphasis on personal integrity. These hallmarks form the core of our Sacred Heart experience, and reflect the established spirit and intention of our foundress St. Madeleine Sophie Barat.
