Sacred Heart Schools Atherton offers many options for the Kindergarten through Grade 8 summer student. There are three weeklong morning and afternoon sessions beginning June 10, 2024.

The Summer Enrichment camps are listed below by week & morning/afternoon session, along with the teacher and grade level. Select any camp to view the description.

All morning camps meet M-F from 9:00AM - 12:00PM and afternoon camps meet M-F from 1:00PM - 4:00PM.

  • K Readiness - Ms. Buret - Kinder readiness math focus

    "Kinder readiness math focus" Math fun for the up and coming kindergarten student. The morning camp will encourage partnership building, working in a team, and introduce the student to the routine of Kindergarten. Math activities will spark the students imagination and creativity. This camp will have perfect balance of academics and summer fun!
  • 1st Grade Readiness - Ms. Sanders - Prep for First Grade Adventure Camp

    "Prep for First Grade Adventure Camp," A specialized program designed to ensure your rising first and second graders are ready to tackle the exciting world of academics! Our camp is carefully crafted to provide a fun and engaging environment where children can develop the skills needed for a successful transition into first and second grade. Get ready for morning routines, handwriting, trick words, phonics, scissors, math games, reading adventures, and creativity.
  • Grades 1-2 - Ms. Birchall - A teamwork and partnership class

    A teamwork and partnership class for rising 1st and 2nd graders. This class will include different academic activities that encourage partnership and teamwork amongst younger students. That can include group games both inside and outside, partner reading, reader's theater activities, group art projects, etc.
  • FULL - Gr 2-3 - Ms. Restifo - Build an Amusement Park

    Build an Amusement Park: Build your own amusement park using your skills in planning, writing and math! Students will design various aspects of an amusement park including a map, ride design, gift shop, a snack stand and more!
  • Gr 2-3 - Ms. Campbell - Mac Barnett Author Study

    Mac Barnett Author Study: Mac Barnett is a beloved Bay Area author of popular books such as: Triangle, Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, Extra Yarn and The Kid Spy Series.  In this class, students will enjoy interactive read-alouds, book discussions, short writing and creative projects based on the literature, author and his illustrator friends. This class is for kids who are "obsessed" with books, who devour stories full of feeling, adventure, creativity and, most of all, HUMOR!

    Let's get crafty! Want to learn to crochet, knit, and make friendship bracelets? This is the place! Come hang out, listen to audio books and music, and make some fun crafts together! Students will have the chance to learn a new skill or increase the skills they already have. Students will learn to make knitted trivets, crocheted squares, and how to connect them to make larget projects, as well as work on friendship bracelets.
  • Gr 4-5 - Ms. King - The Loopy World of Topology

    The Loopy World of Topology. Think of topology as a magical map that helps us explore the cool and wiggly world of shapes. Instead of measuring lengths or angles, we're interested in the way things bend, stretch, and twist. It's a geometrical adventure!

  • Gr 4-6 Mr. Howe - Building An Interactive Friendly Monster

    Building An Interactive Friendly Monster:  Ever wanted a stuffed animal that responds to you? Then this is your chance to build an adorable interactive friendly monster with Mr. Howe in the HUB! We will learn about e-textiles, sewing, basic coding using Ardunio (C/C++), and electronics as you build a friendly monster that lights up, sings, and interacts with you using the Lilypad Arduino system. (No prior programming experience required.)
  • Gr 4-5 - Mr. Sugden & Ms. Losteter - GOTTA SING!  GOTTA DANCE!

    GOTTA SING!  GOTTA DANCE!  Students will be introduced to foundational skills in Auditioning, Character Analysis and Development, Blocking and Stage Direction, Ensemble singing and dancing, improvisation and many other stage craft skills with the ultimate goal of performing a mini play/ musical.  (SIGN UP FOR BOTH WEEKS (AM and PM) CAMPS IS REQUIRED)
  • Gr 4-5 - Ms. Grzegorek - Create a Fantasy Story

    Do you love reading fantasy books? Have you ever wanted to write a fantasy story? This is your chance! Come create and illustrate a fantasy adventure of your own, with classmate who love a good story as much as you do.

    Embark on a thrilling cultural journey this summer! Experience Chinese language and culture at Sacred Heart, Atherton. Dive into hands-on activities, taste authentic Chinese food, learn Mandarin phrases, immerse in diverse cultures, and enjoy music and movies. Ignite your curiosity and have the time of your life!
  • Closed for Registration - Middle School - Ms. Loughhead - Mindfulness

    Mindfulness: This class is for students interested in learning interactive mindfulness strategies. Students will enjoy journaling, meditating, sensory nature walks, group work, and more.  Students will implement these unique strategies into their daily lives to meet the world's stresses with presence, self-compassion, and openness.
  • FULL - Middle School - Ms. Power & Ms. Horovitz - Helping Hands MS Service Camp

    Helping Hands MS Service Camp ~ Cooking, Creating, and getting your hands dirty! You will be supporting local outreach and campus programs by preparing meals for St. Church and Sandwiches on Sunday along with working in the campus garden and farm.
  • Middle School - Mr. Murphy - Wood Carving

    Join us in learning and practicing the fine art of Wood Carving. From Whittling to Relief, learn the tools and cuts to take any plain ole piece of wood into something magical and hand crafted! Students will enjoy working with a variety of tools including Gouges, Chisels, and Knives over the course week to complete their very own treasure! Avoid the cuts and bring home a whole new skill!

    Welcome to our "Welcome to our "Old School Playground Games" camp, where we turn back the clock to a time when laughter, friendship, and classic outdoor games ruled the playground! This camp is specially designed for rising 1st graders who are ready to unplug, unleash their energy, and have a blast in the great outdoors. Be ready to learn the timeless classics, the importance of teamwork and friendship, and stay active!
  • Gr 1-2 - Ms. Restifo - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- Read and Create!

    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- Read and Create! As we read the story of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, we will explore character development and the lessons that each person learns. Students will also have the opportunity to get creative and complete activities associated with the story!
  • Gr 2-3 - Ms. King - Creative Journaling

    Creative Journaling: journaling can be a fun and an effective way to encourage self-expression, enhance literacy skills, and foster creativity. In this class we'll explore various ways to journal including some unique journal experiences.

    Welcome to wilderness survival camp! Our camp offers an experience designed to learn outdoor skills. Led by Ms. G and Ms. Van Dyke, you'll learn essential techniques in shelter-building, fire-making, navigation, first aid and more!
  • Middle School - Ms. Horovitz - Pre-Algebra Skills

    For Rising 8th graders who want to spend a little extra time practicing their pre-algebra skills. With a mix of games and problems we will review core skills such as graphing from a rule or table of values, solving and writing equations, dealing with integers in our equations and understanding exponent rules in all their glory!
  • FULL - Middle School - Mr. Murphy - Drones!

    Join us for an exciting week of flying and building Drones! By exploring the physics of flight and motion through engineering and design, students will discover the principles of physics and engineering through hands-on glides and dives throughout the week. In addition, students will have the opportunity to design and build their own drone body for improved performance, leaving the week both a pilot and designer!

    STEAM: Shoe Fashion & AI: Shoe Fashion and AI. Dive into 'Shoe Fashion and AI'! Your child will sketch and build their dream shoes using cool AI tools. They'll learn, play, and explore the fun world of shoe design, blending creativity with technology. It's a perfect adventure for young minds to unleash their imagination and discover the magic of fashion and innovation!"

    For rising 6 and 7th graders interested in considering some real world questions through the lens of quantitative analysis.  Students will have some opportunities to decide as a group which questions to explore and we will mix in some games and puzzles along the way.

    STEAM: Mars Habitat Design Challenge: Mars Habitat Design Challenge. In this camp, kids work in teams to design a sustainable habitat for Mars. They explore topics like space architecture, life support systems, and the Martian environment, using materials to create a model of their habitat.

    Have you ever wanted to produce your own videos?  In this course, we will learn how to create a video from start to finish.  We will learn about (1) story boarding and script writing, (2) digital filming techniques, and (3) editing and post production processes.  At the end of this class, you will have a finished film piece and have techniques to keep making more videos.

    Music & Movement Camp: "Let's Stretch, Sing and Dance!" This camp was designed for children interested in exploring the realm of music in a dynamic and engaging way. We will work on our body awareness and self control with mindful stretching, learn songs including choreographies and movement, as well as discover dance games.

    Students will learn foundational design process (inspiration, materials, color) and be introduced to fashion sketching. Ultimately creating a 3 piece collection (sketched/colored) for their favorite Broadway Musical....with the  a "warm up" dance to start our days inspired by Hamilton.

    Storybook and STEM: Students will read various stories together and complete hands on STEM activities connecting to the books!
  • FULL - Gr 3-5 - Ms. Syed & Mr. Kalmbach - Junior Chefs' Adventure

    Welcome to Junior Chefs' Adventure, a dynamic cooking course for grades 3-5! This hands-on experience introduces young learners to the joys of cooking through interactive lessons on kitchen safety, healthy eating, and basic culinary skills. We will guide students as they explore fun recipes, learn about the science behind cooking, and build teamwork and creativity. Perfect for budding chefs, this course promises to turn fresh ingredients into delicious dishes and create lasting kitchen confidence!
  • Middle School - Mr. Murphy - Catapults!

    For handy and creative middle school students, join us this week as we launch into the adventure of Catapults! Explore the secrets of ancient engineering by constructing your very own catapult from scratch. Together, we'll unravel the science behind catapults, exploring concepts like potential energy, force, and projectile motion. In addition, students should be prepared to get dirty, as they experiment, optimize, and compete to launch objects further than ever before. Fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills, challenges and competitions throughout the week will ignite your child's creativity and innovation.

  • Camp Withdrawal

    Students may cancel enrollment anytime before summer camps begin. The last day you may cancel a class and receive a full refund is Friday, May 3, 2024. Camps canceled by Friday, May 17, 2024 will receive a 50% refund. Camp cancellation requests received after May 17, 2024 will not be eligible for a refund, however another camp may be selected as a trade should space be available.

    A $100 processing fee will be deducted from the refund or camp cancellation.
