The Sacred Heart Prep Athletics Programs went 7-0 yesterday, with wins by Girls Tennis (JV & Varsity), Girls Water Polo (JV & Varsity), Boys Water Polo (JV & Varsity), and Girls Golf.
Girls Water Polo
In the West Catholic Athletic League, Isabella Bachler scored five goals as host Sacred Heart Prep beat St. Ignatius 14-2 on Wednesday.
Ella Woodhead added four goals for the Gators (5-2, 2-0), who host Gunn at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by Acalenes at 12:30 p.m.
SH Prep opened a 7-0 lead after the first quarter. After making four saves, starting goalie Nellie McAdams was given the rest of the afternoon off, allowing Megan Norris extended playing time. She responded by making 12 saves in 21 minutes.
Bachler, who also had two steals, and Woodhead scored all of their goals in the first 8:18 of play as SHP opened an 11-0 lead before the Wildcats scored at the end of the third period and again at the beginning of the fourth.
Dasha Sokolova led the Gators with three steals.
Boys Water Polo
Stanford commit Larsen Weigle scored seven goals on eight shots and Sacred Heart Prep beat visiting St. Ignatius, 17-4, in a West Catholic Athletic League contest on Wednesday.
Kyle Ballack added three goals for the Gators (2-0, 2-0), who are heading to the Elite Eight Invitational beginning Thursday at Harvard-Westlake School. They open with Oaks Christian in a rematch of last year's championship match, won by the Lions.
Walker Seymour added two goals and two assists and Will Riley scored twice and recorded a pair og goals for the Gators. Griffin Price and John Petrakian combined to make 12 saves.
The match was tied 2-2 with 4:40 left in the first period. Weigle scored 10 seconds later to spark five-goal lead that put SH Prep in control.
Ballack, Riley and Isaac Rotenberg also scored during the run.
Girls Tennis
Sacred Heart Prep's Lindsay Lynch out-dueled Menlo-Atherton's Sophia Long at the top of the singles ladder, 6-4, 6-4, and the Gators went on to beat the visiting Bears, 6-1, in a nonleague match Wednesday.
Isa Robinson, Katherine Salisbury and Sara Quinlan each won their singles matches in straight sets and the No. 3 doubles team of Lindsay Marcus and Natalie Dias helped clinch the victory.
Sacred Heart Prep (2-2) travels to Palo Alto for a nonleague match Monday at 4 p.m. while M-A puts its regular season PAL winning streak of 60 matches on the line at Aragon on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Girls Golf
Danielle Sarkisian earned medalist honors and Sacred Heart Prep earned a 249-310 victory over The King's Academy at Sunnyvale Muni in a West Bay Athletic League match Wednesday.
Hannah Lesti shot a round of 47 and Chloe Kufeld added a 48 for the Gators (2-3, 2-2), who meet Castilleja and Notre Dame of Belmont in a three-way match at the Menlo Country Club on Monday at 3 p.m.
