SHP 2024/2025 Winter Sports Wrap Up

The Gators finish a strong season!
The SHP Boys Basketball team capped off another impressive season with a 16-11 overall record and an 8-2 mark in WBAL play, earning berths in both the CCS Division IV playoffs and the CIF NorCal Division III Regional Tournament. Notable wins included two victories over CCS Division I champion Carlmont, a 58-39 triumph over Division III NorCal finalist Palo Alto, and a perfect 4-0 combined record against crosstown rivals Menlo (3-0) and Menlo-Atherton (1-0).

Following a strong finish to the 2023-2024 season, the SHP Girls Basketball team earned a promotion to the top-tier WBAL Foothill Division. The Gators responded with a 10-win campaign and secured their fourth consecutive trip to the Central Coast Section (CCS) playoffs. Their season was highlighted by a 47-41 victory over CCS Division III runner-up Notre Dame-San Jose and a dominant 63-29 win over Design Tech in the CCS Division IV quarterfinals.

Just one year after fielding only 16 players in the entire program, a young and determined SHP Boys Soccer team won nine of its final 10 matches to clinch a CCS Division III playoff berth. The Gators went on an impressive postseason run, winning all three matches while conceding just one goal to claim their first CCS championship since 2022. Their season ended in the Division III NorCal Regional quarterfinals, where they fell 3-1 to eventual NorCal champion Archie Williams.

The SHP Girls Soccer team completed arguably the finest season in program history, capturing a CCS Division V championship and securing the program’s first-ever NorCal Regional title. Battling injuries for much of the year, the Gators finished the regular season 14-7-3 overall and 7-3-1 in WBAL play before entering the CCS playoffs at full strength. They dominated their six postseason opponents, outscoring them 32-2. The season culminated in a dramatic comeback victory over Fresno Christian in the NorCal title game, where the Gators erased a 2-1 deficit in the final seven minutes—equalizing with seven minutes to play before netting the game-winner in stoppage time.
