Middle School Students Selected to California All-State Honor Band
Alison K. (LMS '16) and Matthew K. (LMS '17) were selected to the prestigious ensemble
Selected from thousands of submissions across the state, Sacred Heart Middle School students Alison K. (LMS ’16) and Matthew K. (LMS ’17) were named to the California All-State Honor Band.
“Both Alison and Matthew worked extremely hard to realize their goals and we are very proud of them,” said Emilio Lacayo-Valle, Sacred Heart’s band director. “To be named to an All-State ensemble is the highest accomplishment achievable for a student musician.”
Alison, a flutist, and Matthew, a clarinetist, will now travel to San Jose for this year’s California Band Director’s Association (CBDA) annual conference, where they will work with some of the state’s and country’s top music educators, conductors and composers over a weekend.
