Sara Choy ('18) Recipient of Prestigious USTA Bill Talbert Junior Sportsmanship Award

The Bill Talbert Junior Sportsmanship Awards are presented each year by the USTA and the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Recipients are selected from nominations received from the 17 USTA sections.

Sacred Heart grad Sara Choy ('18) has been named the 2018 recipient of the Bill Talbert Junior Sportsmanship Award, which is awarded by the USTA and International Tennis Hall of Fame. Candidates for the award must fulfill three criteria, including...

1. A junior player in good standing who holds a current USTA Membership and is in good standing.
 
2. The information submitted must be for play completed before the nominee's 19th birthday. The nominee must be 18 or under on January 1 of the year in which the award is being presented.
 
3. A junior player who exemplifies the finest qualities of sportsmanship in tournament play and the finest traditions of the great sportspersons of tennis past and present. In evaluating the Bill Talbert Junior Sportsmanship Award nominations, the USTA Awards Committee will take into consideration only the information that pertains to the criteria of the award.​
