Prep report: SHP girls win a water polo doubleheader

With two more wins over the weekend, the Girls Water Polo team is now 15-5 overall (5-0 WCAL), and winners of 6 in a row.
Isabella Bachler scored six goals, Nellie McAdams recorded 12 saves in her three quarters of action and the Sacred Heart Prep girls water polo team downed Clovis, 17-11, as part of a nonleague doubleheader at Clovis West on Saturday.
The Gators also won the second game, beating Clovis, 14-1.
Against the Cougars, Olivia Smith scored with 35 seconds remaining in the first period and Eleanor Facey scored 30 seconds later to put the Gators (15-5) ahead to stay.
Alexandra Szczerba scored 30 seconds into the second period and Bachler scored twice as the Gators netted the final five goals of the first half to take a 9-4 advantage into the intermission.
Bachler scored the first two goals of the third period and Ashley Penner scored to make it 12-4 with 2:10 remaining in the third period.
Bachler, Annabel Facey and Ella Woodhead all added a pair of assists. McAdams, who led the team with four steals, recorded a save percentage of .632 before giving way to Megan Norris, who had five saves and a .556 save percentage.
Megan Norris stopped 13 of the 14 shots she faced against Clovis for a .929 save percentage. Bachler and Szczerba each added three goals.
