Paly runners conquer the hills; SHP's Lynch wins on court

Lindsay Lynch and Isa Robinson made it an all-Gators final at the West Bay Athletic League singles tournament Tuesday.

Lynch, who played No. 1 singles most of the year for SHP, downed Robinson, a mainstay at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1, to earn an automatic bid into the Central Coast Section tournament.

Before that happens, though, Lynch and Robinson turn back into teammates for a WBAL playoff match against visiting Notre Dame San Jose, the Skyline Division champion, on Thursday at 4 p.m. Sacred Heart Prep was second, behind Menlo School, in the WBAL Foothill Division.

Lynch had the tougher semifinal, rebounding from a first set loss to beat Harker's Lisa Egorova, 2-6, 7-5, 7-5, to advance. Robinson beat Castilleja's Becca Row, 6-4, 6-1.
