VictoriaGarrick USC Trojans (women’s volleyball): The senior libero out of Sacred Heart Prep ranks third in the Pac-12 with 4.70 digs per set and will be in town Friday night as the No. 13 Trojans take on No. 2 UCLA on Friday at 8 p.m. in a match that will be televised on ESPN2.
BenBurr-Kirven WashingtonHuskies (football): The former Sacred Heart Prep star and two-time Mercury News player of the year had 20 tackles (14 solo) on Saturday night — the most by a UW player in 22 years — as the Huskies held off Arizona State 27-20. It earned him Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for a second time in a row.
